The practical part

How this works, so you can say yes with confidence.

The beautiful part matters. So does the practical part. Here is the timeline, the terms, and honest answers to the questions a careful board will ask.

Timeline

About eight to ten weeks, start to launch.

Summer is your planning season, so we use it well and move at a steady pace. Exact start date is set together at kickoff.

  1. 01Discovery and architectureWeeks 1 to 2
  2. 02WireframesWeeks 2 to 3
  3. 03Content and migrationWeeks 3 to 5
  4. 04DesignWeeks 4 to 6
  5. 05BuildWeeks 5 to 8
  6. 06Accessibility and qualityWeeks 8 to 9
  7. 07Launch and redirectsWeek 9
  8. 08Training and ongoing partnershipWeek 10

Investment and payment

A fair rate, paid in steps you control.

Comparable agency builds for a site like this commonly run forty thousand dollars and up. Every tier in this proposal is already a nonprofit partnership rate.

You never pay for work you have not seen. Payment is tied to milestones you approve.

  1. 1

    40% to begin

At kickoff, so we can reserve your summer slot and start discovery.

  2. 2

    30% at approved design

Once you have signed off on the look and feel.

  3. 3

    30% at launch

The remainder when your site is live and you are up and running.

Your schedule is forty percent to begin, thirty percent at approved design, and thirty percent at launch.

How we keep this safe for you

The risk is on us, not on you.

A fixed price, no surprises

You approve the scope and the price up front. No surprise overages.

You approve every phase

Nothing moves forward until you have seen it and said yes.

Sixty days of free fixes after launch

If something breaks after we go live, we fix it at no cost.

No lock in

It is standard custom WordPress that you own. Any developer can take it over later. You are never trapped.

Scope

What is included, and what is not.

Included

  • Discovery, architecture, and a content plan
  • A custom WordPress build that merges all three sites
  • Core pages, news, events, and the podcast
  • Donation integration and the quick exit safety feature
  • Content migration from all three sites
  • WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility
  • Every old link redirected to its new home
  • Hands on training, and a partner who stays

Billed separately, at cost

  • +Hosting, domain, and any third party subscriptions, which you own and we set up in your name
  • +Payment processing fees from your chosen donation tool
  • +Net new features requested after sign off, quoted simply when they come up
  • +Paid stock photography, if you choose any

Today everything lives on Wix. We move you off it entirely and onto one custom WordPress CMS that is truly yours to shape, with the donation, email, and podcast tools chosen to fit your work, not forced on you by a rented platform.

Questions a board asks

Straight answers.

Do we own the website?

Yes, completely. The files, the content, and the hosting and domain accounts are all in your name. You hold the keys.

Can we really update it ourselves?

Yes. You get a clean visual editor, hands on training, and a simple guide. Words, photos, news, events, and the podcast are all yours to manage.

What are the ongoing costs?

Modest annual hosting and a domain, set up in your name and billed at cost, plus whichever care plan you choose. Nothing hidden.

What if we want changes later?

Small edits are covered by your care plan. For future projects, updates, and technical lifts, you can simply bill by the hour, with a clear estimate before any work begins. You only pay for what you need.

Can we cancel the care plan?

Yes, and freely. Care plans are month to month, with no penalty. You can stop and restart any time as your needs change, and bill by the hour in between.

Who owns our content and photos?

You do. Everything we create or migrate for you belongs to you.

What about the AI phase you mentioned?

Only when you are ready, and never anything survivor facing until it has passed a careful safety review. Privacy first, with human help always one step away.

Still have a question?

Ask it. We would rather answer now than leave you guessing.
